Rosette Hello Kitty Moist & Lift Mask

Rosette has a small skincare line with Hello Kitty which as it seems is quite popular now. Rosette has fabulous skincare (I have to review the Soys line soon which is my current favorite facecare line!) so I didn´t hesitate to pick up 3 pcs of their Hello Kitty Moist & Lift Mask despite the rather high price of US$14/3 pcs (on Ebay).

Awwwwwww! Hello Kitty is showing us how to use the masks! Isn´t that too cute?

The cut and fit of the mask isn´t perfect in my opinion. It´s too wide at the top which means you´d have to stick it on your hair and makes the mask peel off a few times when wearing it for 15 minutes.
The thin cotton cloth is soft and comfortable otherwise though.

The essence the masks are saturated with is fragranced with a yummy candied apple scent...Hello Kitty´s favorite! =D
The liquid is on the lightweight not overly nourishing side so I honestly don´t notice much moisturization as I am used from most sheet masks however I notice an instand brightening effect which I think is rather nice (but something most other cheaper sheet masks can do as well).

Overall these masks are cute and smell good but they aren´t among the best I tried. Right now my favorite masks are from Simply and Simply Sexy Look (which I reviewed recently) and my old fave Kanebo Kracie Hadabisei (the black ones).

Demeter Fragrance Library: Hello Kitty cologne spray

I reviewed the Little Twin Stars and My Melody cologne sprays from Demeter recently. I really love those 2 so I ordered the Hello Kitty-themed one, too.

Hello Kitty is a lovely apple scent. Not the kind of sweet kitty apple but rather a stronger one with more dimension.
Overall this is probably my favorite scent of the 3 so I am really happy I ordered it.
Lasting power is ok...since it´s a cologne it needs reapplication throughout the day.

I got mine from Sasa for around US$23 for 30ml. This shop seems to stock quite a variety of the Fragrance Library from Demeter.

Cellnique Vital Cellular Repair Masque, D´Sensi Cream & Intensive Hydrating Complex

Cellnique is a Malaysian brand which is available worldwide as they ship internationally. I was contacted by their customer service a few months ago asking me to review a few of their products. Selina from the customer service was very friendly and helpful and sent me products fitting for my skin-type.

First I want to tell you that Cellnique will send a free sample of their Skin Action Sebum Gel to the first 50 readers to email them (fbfreesample@cellnique.com)...just send them your name and mailing address and write "lotuspalace.blogspot.com" in the subject line. Valid for 1 week after the product review and delivery will take about 4-6 weeks. So if you are keen on trying it email them quickly, please!
If you do I would also love if you can comment on this post, I am just curious how many of you will take this offer! But sure no must =)

Anyways, one to the products.
I got 3 full-sized products to be able to test-drive them well.

1. Vital Cellular Repair Masque:
Contains Yeast Beta Glucan, Vitamins and Hyaluronic Acid. It´s supposedly a very mild mask even suitable for post-operation skin.

This comes in a simple clear/silver jar with 50g contents. It´s thick green paste which reminds me of the stuff the dentist is using to make dental impressions hehe
It´s a nourishing wash-off mask so just apply a thick layer to your clean skin and leave it on for 20 minutes before you rinse it off. It has a slight and pleasant scent (as they call it it´s a tropical fruit scent).

When I used this the first time I wasn´t really impressed as I felt a burning sensation on my cheeks for the first 10 minutes so I didn´t feel comfortable with the mask on. After washing it off my skin looked slightly redder.

I used it more times and I didn´t have the same problem again, probably my skin was just stressed on the first day I tried it. My skin felt really soft and smooth and just relaxed so all in all I like this though I am not sure how extremely sensitive skin might handle this.

2. D´Sensi Cream:
This product is a daily moisturizer for very sensitive skin-types. It contains boerhavia diffusa root extract, vitamin E, squalane, rice bran oil, hyaluronic acid, lysine etc. It´s free of fragrance, parabens and colorants.

Honestly this is the one product that let me down... my skin tolerated this nicely smooth and silky cream and didn´t get any kind of allergic reaction however I got some small red bumps on my cheeks that didn´t want to disappear until

I stopped using this cream after 6 weeks of testing it out. I am not sure which ingredient caused it... I first thought it might be the dimethicone but I use other things with it and don´t have the same problem at all.
Overall a mild cream but nothing really for me.

3. Intensive Hydrating Complex:
This is my favorite product and the one that stood out in my opinion. Contains concentrated hyaluronic acid, aloe extract, rosehip oil and amino acids and lots of other good stuff (check the ingredients list!)

This is a lightweight liquid gel which you apply after cleansing and toning as it´s a serum-type treatment.
In my opinion this stuff is seriously moisturizing and a wonderful treat for thirsty skin as it makes it look plump and soft. I have meanwhile used up the whole bottle and definitely consider purchasing this now.

You can pat this on as a special treatment around eyes and/or use it on your whole face. I usually used about 4-5 drops for my whole face and 2 drops for my eyes and loved the results I got with this.

I also received samples of the Total Day Time Protection 30 and the Vital Repair Cleansing Milk.

The Vital Repair Cleansing Milk is a milky lotion to remove makeup (just spread on dry skin, massage and rinse or wipe off with cotton pad). It did a good job of removing lightweight face makeup such as a layer of BB Cream and powder. It made my skin feel smooth and didn´t irritate it at all.

The Total Day Time Protection 30 came in a small jar and is a thicker white cream. It blends well but I am not sure if it could leave a whitish cast on someone more tan than me. Otherwise it was comfortable to wear this and again didn´t irritate my skin.

Overall this is a high-quality brand and there are definitely some products in the line for everyone to enjoy. Cellnique caters all skin-types so I suggest checking their site (and products) out!

As per request from Cellnique here is my skin before I started using their products and after. This was taken a few weeks later (after I stopped using the D´Sensi Cream)

Spring 2010: Kanebo Coffret D´or Aqua Rouge (AA Rouge) in BE187 & BE188

I was lucky to score a few pretty lippies on eBay within the previous few months and among them a few of the new lipsticks from Coffret D´or called Aqua (or AA) Rouge.
I think I paid about US$15/each incl. shipping (ebay auction, not a buy-it-now) whereas when I ordered 2 colors from Adambeauty a while ago I paid US$27 which is still cheaper than the retail price.
I reviewed 2 colors already here so please check the review for my thoughts on the lipsticks.

The 2 BE shades I got (BE187 and BE188) seem to be a bit more pigmented but in the same time also a bit drier than the 2 PK shades I tried before. Not very drying but I notice it epecially with color BE188.

BE187 is a gorgeous nude pink beige which is the sort of perfect color for me. Love this one a lot!

BE188 is a slightly darker peachy beige shade. It´s a bit on the warmer side and sports a less sheer finish than BE187.

Both contain shimmer and give a slightly glossy finish. Furthermore there is no scent or taste to detect at all.

Simply Duo Anti Aging Mask Q10 & Platinum

Maybe you remember my review of the Sexy Look masks I wrote recently. It seems that Sexy Look is a brand under Simply, a Taiwanese brand, of which I purchased the Duo Anti Aging Mask Q10 & Platinum from their Anti Aging Program.

It´s not that I have wrinkles at age 29 but I think the best is always to prevent rather than repair the damage =P Well, any excuse is valid if it´s about trying cool new sheet masks hehe!

The Simply Duo Anti Aging Mask is designed like the ones from Sexy Look with a stretchable mask for the face and a part for the chin, both to be attached to your ears with holes cut in the sides. The cloth is very soft and silky and comfy to wear.
The cut and fit to my face are just superior and the mask can easily stay on for 30 minutes without sliding off or getting on my nerves despite the whopping 30ml essence lotion content!

Check the ingredients list below to see all the good stuff in these masks. There is Q10, platinum, blue algae, fermented milk, vitamin K, ceramide, urea, vitamin E, vitamin D, hyluronic acid etc.

The masks don´t irritate my skin at all and make it very smooth, soft and glowy and there is a temporary lifting effect around my chin, too (at least I believe so hehe).
No idea how well these masks would fight lines and wrinkles but they´re an excellent moisturizing and lifting treatment and it´s just a pleasure to use them.

The masks are lightly scented but nothing heavy or cloying at all. When I have a mask on I barely notice the scent at all.

All in all these masks are fab and I will continue to use the masks from Simply... I will give a try to the Duo Whitening Mask eventually.
The box of 10 masks set me back around US$12 only and I got them from Sasa.
I actually think the shiny pink box and purple packaging for the masks are really pretty! =)

Lucky Trendy Be Creation Bi Joie Beauty Magic BB Mineral x Silk Set & Giveaway

You might have heard of Be Creation which is a Japanese/Korean brand offering a vast variety of accessories (be it nail ornaments, eyeshadow applicators, false lashes, wigs etc. etc.).
I believe the brand itself (Lucky Trendy Be Creation) is actually Japanese but the Beauty Magic BB Mineral x Silk line has been designed in Japan but produced in Korea.

The Beauty Magic BB Mineral x Silk set contains:
-BB Cream Mineral x Silk SPF30 PA++ in Natural (15g)
-BB Powder Mineral x Silk SPF30 PA++ in Natural (6g)
-Powder puff
-Pouch

The item that mainly interested me was the BB Cream so I ordered the set on Sasa as a special promo was going on (US$13-something instead of US$23.40). I probably wouldn´t have gotten it at full retail but US$13 seemed a good deal.

I got the set recently and the first thing I noticed when I removed the protective plastic slip was that the pouch smells strongly of acetone, much like nail polish remover. That´s usually not a good sign in my opinion (read an article about toys..they said the stronger the plastic reeks of something the more toxic stuff might have been used).
Anyway, the pouch is cute though with its imprinted roses.

The cute pink tube of the BB Cream Mineral x Silk seemed to be half empty but that´s probably because the tube is just too large for the 15g included.
The BB Cream has a rather dark peachy color and is a bit hard to spread as it´s very thick. Furthermore it has an unpleasant smell... it is unscented but somehow smells gross (I will not say of what the smell reminds me as I don´t want to gross anyone out...but it stinks!).
The coverage of this is actualy not bad however the color is off for me as it´s too dark.
This also made my skin slightly itchy which is always a bad sign.

The BB Powder Mineral x Silk on the other hand is super pale, almost white, with a very light glowy sheen (no shimmer or sparkle at all though). It doesn´t smell but the powder puff included (the flat one, not the fluffy one) smells like the pouch...either the odor transferred from the pouch to the puff or it is made of the same stinky stuff.
The powder feels silky and finely milled and doesn´t leave a white cast on me because it´s very sheer (I´d say this is nearly transparent). It doesn´t dry out my skin either but sets any BB Cream nicely.
It´s loose which is something I generally dislike but I think this is good enough to enjoy it.

The fluffy puff is really cute and soft but I haven´t tried it with the powder yet.

Overall you can skip this as the BB Cream stinks and is hard to blend and feels rather heavy and the powder is nice but nothing outstanding by any means.

Since I have no real use for the BB Cream and powder I will give those 2 away to one of the commenters to this post as something that doesn´t work for me might work for someone else!
I think you should be at least NC20-25 to get use out of the BB Cream.
